Pan Fried Corn on the Cob

Since it's July 4th weekend and a lot of you will be cooking outside, here's a great BBQ side-dish recipe.
Fried Corn on the Cob

Ingredients
4 ears fresh corn
3 strips bacon
3 tbl. butter
1 tbl. brown sugar
1 tbl. molasses
14 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. soy sauce
water as needed
salt & pepper to taste
2 tsp. chives, finely chopped

Directions
·         Fry bacon until crisp, remove from heat and drain on paper towels (reserve bacon drippings - we use the bacon in our Potato Salad recipe - all you need for the corn is the pan drippings)
·         Add the. butter to the bacon drippings and melt over low heat
·         Add the brown sugar, molasses, garlic powder, soy sauce, and 2 tbl. of water – mix well
·         Add the ears of corn to the pan and cook over medium heat, turning the ears often
·         Add more water 1 tbl. at a time as needed for about 15 minutes
·         After 15 minutes stop adding water and let the corn fry in the remaining oil, turning often until lightly browned
Transfer to a serving dish and lightly sprinkle with the chopped chives
