Clam Dip

Here's an all time favorite appetizer of ours, especially for summer (and don't forget football season is just around the corner!)   Just about any kind of chips will work.  We normally buy the lower calorie chips, but you know it's good with those big-ole fattening corn dipper chips, too!  :-)   Easy to make, so enjoy.
Clam Dip with corn chips - yum!

Ingredients
8 oz. cream cheese, softened (we use the lower fat cream cheese)
1 tbl. grated onion
1 small clove of garlic, smashed & mashed into a paste
3 to 4 drops of Worcestershire sauce
3 to 4 drops of hot sauce (like Tabasco)
good dash of ground black pepper
5 oz. can of chopped clams, drained (reserve the liquid)

Directions
·         In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and black pepper with an electric mixer until well blended and smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl continuously with a rubber spatula
·         Add the liquid from the clams one teaspoon at a time, until it’s the consistency that you like (maybe 3 to 4 tablespoons max.)
·         Gently stir in the clams until mixed well
·         Chill for about an hour before serving
