Tater Diggin' Time!

There's nothing better than a freshly dug potato.  When the tops of the plants start to die, it's time to dig.  We leave them in the ground as long as possible, just digging the ones we want to eat a little at a time.  But once the weather starts to warm up and the ground gets too hot, they all have to come out of the ground, otherwise they'll rot.  We can keep them fresh for quite a while in a cool, dark place after we dig them.  It's hard work, but there's nothing better than a melt-in-your-mouth fresh potato!



They'll be ready to dig up as soon as the tops start to die.
